Water sports sector has high hopes for 2015

Thousands of workers laid off, bankruptcies, forced mergers; the water sports sector was hit hard by the crisis. Average turnover of operators in the sector fell by 20 percent, with peaks up to 50 and 70 percent. But 2015 should be the year of the turnaround.

According to HISWA our country has 1.5 million boaters. Over 2000 companies have water sports as their main activity with approximately 25,000 employees. Total sales is 2.25 billion euro (gross). More than half of this is in export.
